
Oral Roberts is a proud Bundjalung man raised and born at Cubawee, a small Aborignal settlement outside of Lismore. Oral’s late Grandfather, Stephen (Skipper) Roberts, was a legendary boomerang maker and thrower. Grandfather Steve also made small handcrafted brooch boomerangs for people and hand-painted them with the person’s name on them.





Oral’s work are depicted around Lismore and throughout the Bundjalung nation.
His latest work, “Evolution of Man” was the highest sold exhibited artwork at the Art of The Bundjalung Nation Lismore City Hall 2009. Oral has been commissioned by various Councils around the shire to complete different Aboriginal artworks for beautifying the various towns and cities.
Orals works are acrylic on canvas depicting animals and bush scenes and his artwork are also on rocks, shields and boomerangs.
Oral’s latest work is displayed in Carrington Street Lismore, along with another local artist. Oral’s work is on the other artists weathered look iron sheeting.
