Marie Florence wins Indigenous Arts Award at Coraki Art Show 2010.

Marie said,”I am proud to win this award against other Aboriginal people of our Bundjalung area”. Marie was encouraged by Mick and Thelma from GunnaWannaBe to enter one of our most prestigious art events.

Marie’s painting ‘Forced Restriction Loss of Livlihood’ depicts how life was on Cubawee were different tribes were forced to live and to her this painting brings back memories  from her childhood.

Marie was so thrilled about the award’s win that she couldn’t believe it. Her works (or what is left of them as they are going fast) are on exhibition  at GunnaWannaBe.
